According to legend, the supreme goddess Makosh was assisted by two younger goddesses Dolya and Nedolya, or Srecha and Nesrecha.
- Goddess Dolya is a bright, beautiful, forever young spinner. He sits at an emerald spinning wheel and securely holds in his gentle and affectionate hands the strong golden thread of human life, tying knots of meetings and successes on it.
- The goddess Nedolya is a dark and sad old woman who spins a special part of human life. From its granite spindle comes a fragile and crooked thread - the fate of people who do not follow the lessons of the Gods. Its entire thread is covered with “non-meetings” and failures. Sometimes Nedolya breaks this thread and weaves into it the golden thread of the goddess Doli, and when she doesn’t weave it, the person goes to the world of his ancestors.
Like the goddess Makosh, her assistants Dolya and Nedolya came to our time in the form of dolls.
Doll Share
The goddess Dolya is connected with the threads of fate, which the goddess of fate Makosh spins, and Dolya ties the knots on her. The Share doll is responsible for good luck and meeting your betrothed, which means every woman needs it. This is a doll for good luck.
When making Doli's amulet doll, it is appropriate to adhere to the traditional approach: do not pick up needles, do not cut anything off Doli herself. You can only cut the doll’s skirt, because there is no other way, but the body of Doli itself must be made without cuts and without knots, always with a protective cross.
The doll consists of two parts - body and arms. Both parts can be made by winding threads around an object of suitable size and removing them without cutting (see photo). The threads can be carefully torn off or snapped if necessary.
