Red thread on the left wrist: symbol of the Kabbalists
A thin red wool bracelet that adorns the wrist of followers of Kabbalah is a powerful protective talisman against the evil eye. Each Kabbalist, before putting on this amulet, performs a traditional ritual consisting of 7 turns of a red thread around the left wrist while reading a prayer in Hebrew.
According to Kabbalistic teaching, energy enters through the left hand and exits through the right. Therefore, the red thread should be wrapped around the left wrist 7 times before cutting it, only in this case it will represent protection from evil.
Once the bracelet is tied, it should be worn for 28 days to 7 weeks, which will include one full lunar cycle. It is then replaced with a new one.
Beautiful Chinese legend about the red thread that binds destinies
The number of legends and beliefs in the East is huge, some are frightening, others are simply beautiful and romantic. The legend of the red thread belongs to this second group.
The old saying “Every tree has its own shadow on the earth!” is rooted in the Japanese legend of the red thread that binds destinies, because regardless of the path you choose and the obstacles, you will still get where you were destined from above. Because there is nothing random in the world, and behind any circumstances there is an invisible Force, stronger than your own being, which leads people along the path of an already written destiny.
According to a legend that came from the east, people who are destined to love each other forever are connected by a red thread. According to one version, the unbreakable thread of fate is tied to the left little finger, according to another, it ties a person’s ankle. But in any case, every person has a twin soul. In this case, neither the difference in age, nor social status, nor the place of residence or place of birth of these two souls, the connection of which is indissoluble, matters.
In some cases, this thread can be particularly long, which ultimately leads to the formation of large and small knots that are nothing more than difficulties that risk jeopardizing the relationship. However, each test passed, in which the knot is untied, only strengthens the connection and makes it much more alive than ever.
Several thousand years ago in the East there lived a strong, young and somewhat despotic emperor, who for a long time was looking for a wife worthy of being next to him. Years later, he had not been defeated by a single girl from his circle, then the young man turned to a witch who could see the red thread of fate.

An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, despite the Time, Place and Circumstances. The thread may stretch or tangle, but it will never break.
Ancient Chinese proverb
The ancient Chinese believed in the existence of Fate. They believed that all important events in life are predetermined, especially the creation of a family, which Bazi (Chinese astrology) confirms.
According to this belief, the young man Wei Gu lost his parents when he was still a child. To find a family again, he wanted to get married early. The young man searched for a suitable wife for a long time, but all the girls refused him.
A year has passed. The young man did not give up and went on a journey to find his wife. It should be noted that the events took place a long time ago, during the reign of Emperor Tang Taizong (599–649). So, he stayed at one of the hotels in Song city and the next day he was going to go meet the daughter of a military man. An ancient temple was chosen as the meeting place.
Early in the morning, Wei Gu will go to the appointed place, wanting to quickly meet the stranger, the moon was still shining brightly in the sky. An old man sat on the steps of this temple and read a book in the light of the moon, leaning on a tattered bag. The young man asked the old man what kind of wonderful book the stranger was reading, but Wei Gu could not make out the words, although he was educated and knew many languages, even Sanskrit. The old man smiled and replied that this was an unusual book, written by the hand of Fate and that the young man should not have caught the old man in this place, much less seen the book, the young man came too early. Wei Gu did not believe it, was embarrassed and asked the old man who he served in this city and what his rank was. The old man said that he was in charge of the marriage office of Fate.
“How is this possible?” — Wei Gu didn’t believe it, “Then tell me when I get married. I lost my parents early, and so that our lineage would not be interrupted, I need to get married. However, I am haunted by failures in this matter; over the past ten years, I have received only refusals for marriage proposals. Today I hope that Fate will take pity on me and I will meet my future wife, that’s why I’m here.”
The old man shook his head and said, “No. The woman you are destined to marry is now three years old. She will become your wife when she turns seventeen." “What’s in your bag,” Wei Gu asked. “The red threads that tie the ankles of a man and a woman if they are meant to be together. Sooner or later, despite all the obstacles, social inequality, goals and distances, they will be together, as they are connected by a red thread. Wei Gu, it’s stupid to try to deceive Fate and look for another, isn’t it?” - the old man asked slyly.
“And who is my wife, where does she live?” — the young man asked. The old man said that the girl who was destined to become the young man's wife lived in the northern part of the city. She is always accompanied by a woman who sells vegetables at the market. The young man really wanted to see the girl right away and asked the old man to accompany him, but he could not leave the place of the appointed meeting and had to wait for the military man’s daughter. Morning came, the sun came out, evening came... the girl never came that day.
The old man closed the book, picked up the bag of thread and they went to the vegetable market. There they saw an old woman, blind in one eye, leading a three-year-old girl by the hand. Both looked very dirty and poor. The old man pointed to the girl: “Here is your wife, Wei Gu.” The young man replied that he would kill the ragged woman and, moreover, did not intend to marry her. “This girl is destined to become very rich and enjoy all the joys of life with you. How can you kill her? - the old man answered and disappeared at the same moment.
Arriving home, Wei Gu sharpened his knife, gave it to the servant and ordered, “You have always been able to solve problems. If you kill this girl, I will reward you with ten thousand coins." The servant promised to carry out the master's order. He went to the market, hiding a knife under his sleeve. He waited until the crowd thickened, quietly stabbed the girl and ran away.
After the servant returned home, Wei Gu asked if his request had been fulfilled. The servant told how it all happened.
Years passed. The young man proposed to girls and still received refusals. Another fourteen years have passed. Wei Gu had long forgotten about the old man’s prediction. Thanks to his father's connections, he was transferred to another city to serve in the police with Mr. Wang Tai. The young man fell in love with the master's daughter and asked for her hand. Wang Tai agreed, as he found the young man very decent and noble. The wedding was magnificent. Wei Gu's wife was either sixteen or seventeen years old at that time, she was gentle, sensual and beautiful. The young people were very happy.
However, Wei Gu noticed that his wife always wears a small flower between her eyebrows and never takes it off. He could not restrain himself and asked her a question about the flower. In tears, she told him that she was not the daughter, but the niece of Mr. Wang Tai. Her parents died early, she was raised by a nanny and lived in Song City. They were very poor and sold vegetables at the market in order not to starve and survive. When the girl was three years old, some madman stabbed her with a knife between her eyebrows. There is a scar left, which she covers with a small flower. Seven years later, when the nanny died, her uncle adopted her, they moved to another city, and there she married Wei Gu.
Wei Gu asked if the nanny was blind in one eye. The girl was surprised and confirmed this. Then Wei Gu told her the whole truth about the old man and that he himself sent a servant to kill her.
Wei Gu and his wife became very respected people in their city and lived richly and happily. Soon they had a son, who was destined to become the ruler of this city.
Friends, the old legend once again confirms that a person cannot change his
Fate, it is better to know it and be able to control it.

There is a fundamental difference between Russian fairy tales and this Chinese legend. In Russian fairy tales, the main characters - princes (or heroes or Ivan the Fool) performed ACTIONS (feats) and at the end received a REWARD (a beautiful wife and half a kingdom). Those. the result was a direct consequence of the effort expended.
In the Chinese legend about the “red thread of fate” everything is completely different. The main character ACTIVELY RESISTED, but still got what was destined for him by fate.
It turns out to be some kind of hopelessness
