Chernobog (Black Snake) is the main antagonist of Yasunya in the mythology of the ancient Slavs. Originally considered an allegory of everything dark in the world and man, he was never given idols or revered.

Chernobog brought into the world such characters of ancient Russian folklore as Viy, Koschey and Goryn Zmeevich. “Brought” in the literal sense, since only a few later myths mention that all of the listed creatures are the children of Chernobog.
