Ring of Solomon. History, photo and meaning of Solomon's ring

History of appearance

Solomon is a legendary historical figure. The great ruler of Israel and Judah was fabulously wealthy and maintained peace and prosperity during his reign. For 40 years he did not wage a single war. He was so wise that people find it difficult to believe in the absence of magical powers. It is still not clear how the ruler managed to build the Jerusalem Temple in those days, which is a perfect structure in terms of materials, scale and design.

The ring with mysterious inscriptions appeared during the development of religious and esoteric cults in Egypt. The magical phrase “Everything will pass” is first found in the work of St. Augustine in 390 AD. Approximately these same words are displayed in the book of Marcus Aurelius “Discourses about Oneself.”

Archaeologists have never found Solomon's magic ring, but today many jewelers make it. The imagination of the craftsmen is not limited in this regard; moreover, it is not known for certain what the decoration looked like or where it came from. There are several legends about the appearance of the ring and the inscriptions on it. They have almost the same meaning.

The Legend of Angelic Gifts

One day Jehovah made it possible for Solomon to control the evil forces. Several angels descended from heaven and presented the ruler with four stones. The first gave power over spirits and the element of wind. The second helped to rule over all living beings. The third mineral made it possible to control rivers, lands, mountains and plains. The last stone allowed the king to become the ruler of all heavenly and earthly spirits.

Solomon combined all four minerals into one ring, which became a great treasure for all mankind. Using the power of this item, the king was able to build a temple in Jerusalem.

The Legend of the Gifts of Angels to King Solomon

The Great Yahweh (Jehovah) endowed the king with the ability to command demons. Eight divine angels descended to earth and presented the king with a stone that gives power over the element of wind and all spirits. The next stone, presented to the ruler, controlled all living creatures in water and on land. The third stone was endowed with the power of change: its owner could turn mountains into plains, dry up rivers and make lands fertile. And the last angel brought the fourth stone, which allowed Solomon to become the ruler of all good and evil spirits in heaven and on earth.

The legendary ruler gathered four talismans together and encrusted the ring with stones. Since then, it has become the greatest treasure of the wise king. The power of the ring was needed by Shlomo (Solomon) during the construction of the temple of Jehovah (Jerusalem Temple).

What does the ring look like?

There are many versions about what this magical object looked like. Here are the most common options:

  1. A massive ring with three phrases in an ancient language.
  2. A regular ring with three letters scratched on the outside of the piece in a circle.
  3. Iron ring with notches or pentagram.
  4. White metal ring with four stones.

There is an assumption that the metal from which the ring was made was very durable and did not undergo oxidation. No one can confirm or deny such information.

In palmistry there is also Solomon's ring, which is a semicircle around the index finger. The presence of this sign in the palm speaks of a person’s extrasensory abilities and means his powerful intuition. In ancient times, such people were burned. Today, rarely does anyone have this sign. Edgar Cayce and Wolf Messing had completely closed rings.

The Legend of King Solomon and the Jeweler

One day, King Solomon saw a man completely dressed in golden robes and asked a passerby who he was. He was a famous jeweler. The ruler ordered him to make a ring within three days that would cheer up those who were sad, and make those who were too joyful feel sad.

Not knowing how to make such a ring, the jeweler turned to Rahabam, the son of Solomon, asking for help. Then the wise young man scratched with a nail on three sides of the ring three letters - Zain, Gimel and Yod. “This too shall pass...” the king read, twirling the ring, and despite all his power and untold wealth he became sad. And when the evil demon threw him to the ends of the world, Solomon looked at the ring on the way home and felt happier.

Solomon's ring as a talisman

It is generally accepted that even an ordinary ring with magical inscriptions is an excellent protection against worries and has magical powers. The ring protects its owner from negative influences, gives wisdom, attracts wealth and good luck. If it seems that the problem cannot be solved, you should look at the wise sayings. The ring can be worn even by those individuals who do not believe in the power of magic.

This product is perfect as a gift for a loved one. The main thing is not to forget to tell the story of the product. It is recommended to wear jewelry for people whose work involves managing people, as well as for those who are unable to control their emotions.

The Legend of the Apprentice and the Demon

All legends about the wisest king of Jerusalem are mainly taken from the Bible, so many of them overlap with each other. However, researchers call the European grimoire one of the very first news about it. This ancient magical book is called “The Testament of Solomon”, it also tells the story of the magic ring.

During the construction of the Jerusalem Temple, King Solomon noticed that one of his young and most beloved apprentices was becoming gloomier and sadder every day. The ruler asked the young man what kind of trouble had happened to him. It turned out that every evening after the end of the working day an evil demon comes to him, takes away his food and earned money, and also sucks blood from the thumb of his right hand. Then Solomon went to the temple and prayed until the Archangel Michael appeared to him, bringing a magic ring. The ring enabled the ruler to tame all evil spirits. He subdued seventy-two demons to his will and with their help completed the temple. Then he imprisoned them in a copper amphora, sealed it with the same ring and threw it into the lake.

But the remaining demons told people about the king’s countless riches hidden in the vessel. The amphora was found and the imprisoned spirits escaped. King Solomon's ring no longer had the same power, and the once powerful king became a sport for evil forces.

The legendary ring of Solomon - does it exist?

There are other Old Testament legends in which the ring of Solomon appears. According to legend, he allowed the Jewish king to subjugate angels, demons and the elements to his will. He was awarded this power by God himself, and the rituals developed by the king are still used by many demonologists around the world. Many of them were given in the largest grimoires, the most famous of which is the Lesser Key of Solomon.

Legends about the ring say that there were four stones in this ring. One is for power over angels. The second is for commanding the elements. The third gave the ability to control demons, and the fourth - to use divine grace. It is believed that with the help of this artifact the king built the Temple of Jerusalem. And at the moment when the king turned away from God and began to glorify the pagan gods, the ring lost its power.

Since then, according to legend, the ring has rested inside Solomon’s tomb and can only return its power to those who find it. So far, this has not happened, although excavations and searches for the burial place of the most legendary of the biblical kings are still underway. Perhaps this is just a myth, but the existence of a number of biblical artifacts is not now in doubt. So, it is very likely that this ring really exists, and whoever finds it will be able to gain legendary powers for their use. Some myths report that the name of God, known only to Solomon, was written on the ring.

Wisdom of the Great

In a state of sadness and despair, a person tends to turn to the wisdom of the great. By reading aphorisms, fables and parables, we become familiar with the experience of our ancestors and absorb their life experience. Especially poets and writers, experts on human souls, can “advise” us from the depths of the years they have lived how to relate to this or that situation.

Krylov's fables, Tolstoy's wise novels, Dostoevsky's insinuations, as well as proverbs and sayings composed by the people themselves over the centuries - what could be better in times of mental turmoil?

In the literature of many nations we can find variations of the well-known phrase that everything passes, this too will pass. The wisdom of these words is that whatever makes you happy or sad, it will pass. Both good and bad, and this is the essence of the movement of time, the meaning of existence over the centuries.

Many people are “familiar” with King Solomon. He ruled the Jewish state during its peak period and became famous for his wisdom. Legends and parables are made about him. Although no real evidence of his existence has been found, according to the Bible, King Solomon is considered a historical figure.

An easy way to determine your ring size

You can remember the school geometry course and independently calculate the diameter of the ring . Measure the circumference of the desired finger with a thread or measuring tape and divide the resulting number by 3.14 (Pi).

For greater accuracy, you can wrap your finger with thick thread, making exactly 5 turns. Then mark the intersection with a marker and cut the thread according to the marks. The segment needs to be measured and the resulting number divided by 15.7 (the number Pi multiplied by 5).

The Legend of King Solomon and the Ring that Gives Peace

Another version of the legend says that Solomon was the wisest ruler, but he was constantly overcome by sudden changes in mood. Then the king turned to the sages of Jerusalem with a request to help him solve this problem. The next day, the chief sage presented the ruler with a ring, on the outside of which there was an inscription: “This will pass...” Solomon constantly wore the jewelry, and when he was tormented by experiences, he looked at the words and became calmer. But one day this phrase did not produce the usual effect, but angered the sovereign even more. In anger, he wanted to throw away the ring, but in time he saw the inscription on the inside: “This too shall pass...” Since then, Solomon’s ring has become his talisman and the guardian of his peace of mind.

An unusual way to determine your ring size!

In order to determine the ring size, all you have to do is... rummage through your wallet. Fortunately, several Russian coins have diameters that match popular ring sizes. Trace the inside of your ring and see which metal coin fits most accurately into the resulting circle.

They have the same diameters:

  • Size 21 and 1 ruble coin
  • Size 19.5 and 50 kopecks
  • Size 19 and 5 kopecks
  • Size 18 and 10 kopecks
  • Size 16 and 5 kopecks

If your ring matches the diameter of a coin of a certain denomination, you can make a fairly accurate conclusion about its size. Accordingly, if the ring is larger than a 10 kopeck coin, but less than 5 kopecks, it is size 17, etc.
