Amulet doll Krupenichka: step-by-step production, video

Origin and history of the amulet

The grain is a talisman whose history goes back to ancient times. It was customary among the Slavs to make a doll to attract wealth and good luck to the house. The grain represented the brownie's wife - the housewife - and occupied an honorable place in the hut - the red corner.

In another way she was called Krupenichka or Pea

The doll was kept and passed down from generation to generation. To charge the amulet with solar energy of prosperity, ripe wheat was placed inside the grain. Sometimes - buckwheat or oats, depending on the purpose of the amulet. By the appearance of the doll, guests judged the wealth of the owners: a densely stuffed Krupenichka meant wealthy people.

Sometimes a similar doll was created to pair with Zernovushka, only dressed in men's clothing and called the Rich Man. This is how a married couple of brownies appeared. Usually this helped improve everyday life and improve the relationship between husband and wife.

In ancient times, Krupenichka was given as a gift for the holiday of Kolyada, when they thanked the gods for a fruitful year. It was believed that the amulet was charged for a warm spring, heavy summer rains and large shoots in the fall. When sowing, the first grain was thrown into the ground from Krupenichka.

There is still a tradition of giving newlyweds a fat Zernovushka as a wedding gift. It is also customary to give a doll as a housewarming gift with wishes of prosperity and prosperity in the home.

How did the Krupenichka doll appear?

The ancient Slavs had many customs associated with the creation and use of protective dolls. There were Lovebirds to strengthen family ties, and Bells to attract joy, as well as the Krupenichka amulet. The latter symbolized wealth and prosperity. Krupenichka’s main concern was to provide a rich table - so that each family member was well-fed, satisfied and happy.

The doll Krupenichka-Zernovushka, or Pea, symbolizes wealth and prosperity.

The Zernovushka doll not only attracted well-being on an energetic level, but also helped to avoid real hunger. The Slavs filled the pupa with grain at the beginning of autumn, after the harvest, using these reserves when there was nothing to eat.

Guests coming to the house could understand at first glance how poor or rich the family was. If Krupenichka is curvy, it means the family is not starving. A baby who has lost weight indicates that difficult times have come.

History has brought to us information about the doll that traditionally accompanies Zernovushka. This doll was called the Rich Man. She represented a male figure, and her goal was to ensure financial prosperity.

Master class: Krupenichka's amulet - attracting wealth to the house

When creating a talisman, follow the rules:

  • faceless grain;
  • the amulet is made from natural materials;
  • when assembling the amulet, do not use needles and scissors;
  • attach clothes to the doll’s body rather than sew them on;
  • do work only in a good mood;
  • If you are worried or anxious, you cannot make a talisman;
  • on Friday, Saturday and Sunday before lunch, amulets are not made;
  • The best time to make grain is during the waxing moon.

Creating a doll will not take much time - the amulet is completed in one evening of leisurely work. But first you need to prepare your workplace and collect materials, and also stop thinking about problems and matters.

What you need for work

  • For the body - a flap of linen 20X20 cm.
  • For hands - the same material, 2 pieces of 17X10 cm.
  • Sundress – a piece of colorful fabric with a folklore motif, 10X20 cm.
  • The underskirt is a piece of cotton fabric 10X25 cm.
  • Dushegreya – dark fabric 10X40 cm.
  • A scarf is a triangle of bright material about 30 cm (measured by the head).
  • Braid for decoration on the forehead.
  • A strip of fabric or lace for an apron – 7X10 cm.
  • Belt - thread approximately 40 cm.
  • Filler – half a kilogram of grain.
  • White and red wool threads.

Traditionally, flaps and pieces of fabric are torn off rather than cut with scissors. The only time you will need a needle is when assembling the body. At other stages of work, the use of piercing and cutting tools is prohibited.

Stages of work

  1. We sew the linen flap along the long edge with a strong seam. It is recommended to use a double stitch to ensure the strength of the amulet.
  2. We wrap one end of the thread tightly around the edge of the future Grain and tighten it.
  3. Turn the workpiece outside.
  4. It turned out to be a neat little bag. You can put a coin at the bottom for good luck. We fill it with cereal, tapping it on the table so that the body is filled more densely.
  5. Leave 3 cm at the top edge. We tighten it with a rope, wrapping it around the neck 7 times. We tie it tightly.
  6. It turned out to be the body of a doll. We put an underskirt on it and fasten it along the border of the neck with a rope.
  7. On top we put on a sundress that does not wrap in the front. We secure it around the neck with a rope.
  8. We put an apron on the face and fasten it to the body with a rope. After this, we straighten the apron down.
  9. We roll the chintz pieces into rolls. We secure the edges with ropes. These are hands.
  10. We spread the fabric for the shower warmer in front of us. We place rolls of hands along the edges and wind the fabric on them 5-6 turns. The fabric remains loose in the center. The edges of the hands peek out from it by 0.5-1 cm.
  11. We place the body in the center of the soul warmer and secure it with a rope.
  12. We wrap the braid around the head, attaching the ends to the neck.
  13. We straighten the knot on the top of the head and put on a scarf on top.
  14. Congratulations, the grain is ready!

Sometimes a sock is used instead of a linen base. The advantage of this method is that stitching does not require a needle. Just fill it with cereal and then follow the steps to create the amulet.

The doll's apron can be decorated with ornaments by embroidering Slavic patterns and other folklore motifs. This cannot be done on a finished amulet. Take care of this in advance, before you start assembling the doll.

Filling wealth amulets - symbolism in detail

The main task of the amulet is to strengthen the energy of prosperity in the house and make the residents’ existence comfortable. Only selected seeds, saturated with the energy of the elements: earth, water and solar heat - fire, can cope with this task. Store-bought, polished kernels will not work because they are empty and lifeless due to factory processing.

The meaning of grains and seeds - the secrets of the masters

Depending on the contents, the amulet affects various factors:

  • Buckwheat – health. Will fill the house with the spirit of health and heal from illnesses.
  • Beans are easy money . Legumes in a talisman are not a symbol of wealth, but a source of a comfortable existence. In other words, Grain and Beans will attract a constant flow of small amounts to you.
  • Millet - marriage . Suitable for women who want to find a faithful and thrifty husband in their home.
  • Wheat - children. An amulet filled with the queen of grains will give the spouses healthy and numerous offspring.
  • Rye is good in the house . This amulet will be useful for families in which quarrels do not subside and there is a lack of home comfort. In such houses there is a tense atmosphere of fear and despondency, which must be driven out by rye.
  • Barley – male power . Suitable for husbands who suffer from impotence.
  • Mixed filler . For those who want to attract success in life in various aspects.

Adviсe

If this is your first time making a doll, I recommend studying literature on needlework and watching special video tutorials in which craftswomen show how to handle fabric, threads and needles.

Add a few unpeeled cloves of garlic to the cereal. This will protect the contents from the appearance of small insects and extend the life of the amulet.

You are lucky if your family has preserved traditions of decorating the house with Slavic ornaments, and you understand symbolism. A beautifully embroidered pattern on Zernovushka’s apron will give the amulet additional power.

How to make the Waldorf version of a grain doll correctly

The version of the amulet, created according to the Waldorf canons, differs from the canonical Zernovushka. The new version allows the use of a needle and scissors.

How to make Zernovushka (first method)

It is better for the housewife to sew it herself. Today, at home, there are 3 ways to make a Zernovushka doll with your own hands. First you need to stock up on the necessary materials: good cereal, a sock, threads, a white cloth in the shape of a rectangle, colored cloth and a handkerchief.

You need to do everything correctly, so there are simple instructions:

  1. Fill a good clean sock with cereal and tie it so as not to spill anything. It is advisable to take large grains, for example, barley or oats.
  2. The end of the sock is pulled over with a thread, forming the head and body.
  3. The white material is folded in two and tied with thread at the ends to form handles. This piece is used to cover Krupenichka and focus on the neck.
  4. A kind of skirt is made from colored calico, and a scarf made of red fabric is tied on the head.

Activation and use of the amulet doll

Pick up the finished Krupenichka and talk to her. Tell the doll about yourself, your family and your desires. Be kind and affectionate with her - she is your protector. Place the amulet in the kitchen or living room. Among the Slavs, the contents of the amulet were updated annually. The base was made for a long time and, as a rule, was passed on from generation to generation.

When the fabric of the amulet wore out, they said goodbye to the doll. You cannot throw away a doll without a special ritual:

  • Listen to yourself. If you feel pity when you pick up a worn-out amulet, this means that it is too early to part with it. Update the doll's appearance and contents - it will still serve for some time.
  • If you feel grateful, then Zernovushka completed the task and attracted prosperity and satiety to the house. The time has come to say goodbye to her.
  • We disassemble the spent amulet into shreds. We break the threads. When disassembling, do not use sharp objects - everything is done manually. The components are betrayed to the elements: buried in the ground, thrown into water or burned in fire. Old threads and scraps cannot be used to create new grains.

In ancient times, such dolls were highly valued and took pride of place in the red corner. Receiving Krupenechka as a gift meant enlisting the support of the gods and living a comfortable life in warmth, prosperity and comfort.

How to do it yourself?

To attract prosperity and good luck to your home, you can make the Bogach amulet yourself. For a small figurine 6–7 cm high, you will need the following materials:

  • a piece of natural fabric (preferably linen) 15×15 cm;
  • colored patch for shirt and pants 5×15 cm, 2 pcs.;
  • small section for a hat 25×10 cm;
  • red woolen threads for tying;
  • cereals (rice, pearl barley, oats, buckwheat and others);
  • coins.

Algorithm for making a talisman:

  1. Sew a bag from a square flap of linen using woolen threads.
  2. Pour grain and coins into it tightly.
  3. Tie well with red thread.
  4. Form a figurine from the resulting bag. To do this, you need to step back a little and tie it with thread to highlight the head.
  5. Wrap the lower part of the doll's body with a flap intended for trousers. At the junction, fold the edges of the fabric inward. Secure the trousers to the waist with red thread or ribbon.
  6. Make a small cut in the middle of a piece of fabric 5x15 cm. Place the flap over the doll's head and straighten it evenly.
  7. Form the hands of a doll on both sides of the shirt. To do this, gather the edges of the fabric and tie them with thread.
  8. Sew a hat and put it on the Rich Man's head.

To decorate the amulet, colored braid is sometimes used, on which you can hang a small key - a symbol of wealth and prosperity.
